Kelly McIlhargey is an experienced legal assistant with a strong background in Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Medicaid planning. Kelly also has many years of experience in customer service, from which she brings the remarkable ability to hold our clients’ hands through what is often a difficult time, while we guide them through the legal process.
Before joining SSR Law Office, Kelly worked with Attorney Farrah Ramdayal at another local law firm. Prior to working in the legal field, Kelly volunteered and then worked for the Macomb County Community Services Agency (MCCSA) Meals on Wheels and Dining Senior Style senior nutrition programs. As a volunteer, Kelly delivered meals to homebound senior citizens. She then worked as a supervisor of one of the local Dining Senior Style sites where she developed relationships with the senior citizens who attended the program as well as with the many program volunteers.
Kelly is a lifelong resident of Macomb County and attended L’Anse Creuse Public Schools. Upon discovering her appreciation for Elder Law, she decided to pursue her paralegal degree at Macomb Community College.
Kelly is an enthusiastic member of the Detroit Zoological Society and makes frequent visits to the zoo with her young nephew, Connor. They especially enjoy exploring the new additions to the zoo, such as the Polk Penguin Conservation Center and the renovated river otter habitat. They are particularly excited for the expansions of the grizzly bear and tiger habitats.
On a more personal note, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and eccentric dog, Biscuit. Kelly is an avid hockey fan (Go Leafs!) and enjoys watching the games with her brothers and father, who instilled her love of the sport. In her spare time, Kelly also enjoys reading a good book, attending live music performances, and going to art exhibitions.
